Agriculture in Nepal
Our country Nepal has more villages than towns. Most of the people are farmers. They depend on agriculture which is the backbone of the country and agriculture supplies people with the daily needs. Unless Nepal can develop agricultural sectors, the upliftment of the country is impossible.
Agricultural sectors provide us with many things. Firstly, we can get our food from agriculture. We can get fresh crops, vegetables, fruits, etc. from our farms. But in our country Nepal, development in agricultural has not been given a high priority. It is seen that most of the farmers applying traditional methods of farming. It is because most of the farmers in our country are not well-trained and educated. By following such useless traditional methods, they cannot have good and high production as expected. Some of the farmers who are trained, skilled apply modern methods of farming and get more benefits. The facilities of irrigation, modern-fertilizers, improved seeds and safe storage are not sufficient We realize that the solutions to these problems have been applied; that's why these problems can be solved in future. Agriculture feeds us supplying with daily needs.
The prosperity and development of the country depends on agricultural upliftment. Unless an agro-based country can feed its people, development is without no doubt impossible. If the country has to import foods from other countries, its money goes away; and by the result, development paces very slowly. If the farmers of our country can produce more crops, vegetables and fruits than need, the farmers can export them to other countries. And if we export such agricultural products to foreign countries, we can earn foreign currency. The development of agriculture provides people with daily needs, increases exports and decreases imports. More than 70% of the people are employed in agricultural sectors. If the development of agriculture is done properly, the problem of unemployment can definitely be easily solved. This indirectly results in the alleviation of poverty of a nation. In Nepal, there are some industries which are based on agriculture and agro-products. It provides raw materials to agriculture-based industries. Furthermore, some raw materials for small scale industries and cottage industries can be provided from agriculture.
Thus, it is extremely important to uplift and develop agriculture in Nepal as the agriculture provides daily needs to the people, increase exports, cut down imports, solve the problem of unemployment, indirectly alleviate poverty and provide raw materials to the agro-based industries. It is said that the development of the country depends on the development agriculture. The government and responsible sectors should give the top-most priority in the development of the agriculture.
