Road Transportation In Nepal

There are a lot of means of transportation in our country Nepal. Among them, road transportation is one of them. As a fact of matter, road transportation in Nepal plays a crucial role for the development of the nation. Despite the conditions not being satisfactory and the existing challenges it has been facing, it offers us many advantages.

Nepal is a mountainous country; therefore, it is not easy to make roads here. It is because the construction of the roads in hilly regions is slow, expensive and difficult. In spite of  the obstacles we are facing with, the construction of the road has been moving ahead. But the condition of the existing roads seems to be really miserable. For example, most of the new roads in the hilly regions have not been tarted yet, the roads in towns, too, have been damaged, etc. Especially, during rainy seasons, many road accidents take place because of the roads being muddy and slippery. Similarly, the roads in hilly regions are frequently damaged by floods or landslides. Furthermore, road transportation in these regions is always risky because of the roads being too narrow and having too many bends. Therefore, we can say that the present condition of the road is not satisfactory. Despite these problems, roads transportation in Nepal is one of the main factors that contribute to the enhancement of the nation.

We can improve the condition of the roads in different ways. The roads which are undergoing construction are to be black-topped as soon as possible. The roads that have been partially damaged are to be rebuilt properly by; mobilizing the fund provisioned by the authority. In order to reduce the dust particles in the air, both sides of the roads can be used as the flower-gardens or we can plant some trees on the both sides of the highways. In addition, the sides of the roads in rural regions can be used as the grasslands.

The development of the nation also depends on its road transportation. Unless build roads as we need, other development works such as constructing hydro-electricity projects, making canals, operating the mines etc. will be very difficult. Likewise, industrialization is completely impossible if we don't have enough road transportation because the materials needed to run factories cannot be supplied easily in the absence of road transportation. Similarly, farmers in rural regions will be highly benefited from road transportation as they cam sell their agricultural and dairy productions easily in the market. By the result, their economic status will be automatically promoted. Likewise, to supply other daily needs, medicines, textbooks, etc., we depend on road transportation. Thus, road transportation in Nepal plays significant roles to carry goods and people from one place to another easily.

What we can conclude is that road transportation is the most important factor to the development of the nation. If proper road transportation is built in every part of the nation then the face of the nation cab be changed positively. The government should give high priority in the proper and sustainable development of the roads all over the nation.
