More than 80 percentage of the total population of Nepal follow Hindu religion. According to Hindu holy books, Hindu people have been divided into four castes and thirty six sub-castes. As a result of this division, they have their own unique languages being used by them for ages. The hatred between the races does not exists here in our country Nepal. The people speaking one language seem to be willing to learn and respect other languages with their heart. Although different castes and sub-castes own their unique cultures and follow different religions, the narrow domestic walls cannot divide them into different hostile fragmentation. The people who follow different cultures and religions do not discriminate and definitely do not  possess hatred and hostility to other tones. Various festivals belonging to different cultures and religions are celebrated together joining hands in hands. And as a result, it ultimately fosters unity, fraternity, friendship, closeness, respect and love among the people who follow different culture and tradition.

Unity or national unity plays the most important role to develop the country. It is a fact that social harmony strengthens national unity. Similarly, unity lessens hatred, anger, jealousy, conflict, mistrust, anger; rather it consolidates co-operation, love, peace, fraternity, trust, brotherhood, friendship and so on. This certainly helps in the development of the nation as the people get united and have the spirit of patriotism. As a result, they help to  intensify their steps for the advancement of the country. If they are whole heartily united, they enhance the feeling of 'We', but not 'I'. Social harmony  directly and indirectly develops and boosts up the rights and freedom of the people. It won't be exaggeration to mention that social harmony in Nepal absolutely intensifies human prosperity and peace.

Therefore, what we can conclude is that social harmony is the most important factor to introduce and maintain peace, freedom and justice. A society that owns its harmony is also called a just or ideal society. Inhumane and antagonistic deeds of the people may not exist in the society if people are heartily united with the true spirit of social harmony.
